About Us

Hello Music Friends,

At Woodnuts.com, crafters for Rock River Wood Forge, we hope to add some visual art to your home and music environment. Our team has a unique mix of 50+ years of industrial design, welding, mechanical, and woodworking experience. We will copy nothing that has been designed by others. Just as you make art from your home and music from notes, we aspire to make sweet music in wood.

We believe in simple flowing lines combined with natural elements. The products we build are designed around the wood we source from near our Southern Wisconsin home.

We thank you for viewing our product and hope we can add something special to your style.

About the woods we use:

Base Hardwoods for Woodnuts.com are selected for their harmonious color palettes. All base hardwoods are sourced from Wisconsin and Illinois, rescued from urban construction sites or farmland trimming. No primary wood comes from tree farms. Exotic wood details are imported.

Every part is solid hardwood; there is no veneer, plywood or particle board used. Wood is selected for character and unique grain. When possible, we use wood from intersecting branches and trunks. This wood is stable and straight and will not change shape in time.

Each finished stand is sealed in five or more hand applied coats of oil and urethane to enhance natural grain and give decades deep luster and protection.

Primary Color Combinations are:

Series 100; Cherry wood from Wisconsin and Illinois, a medium color wood that naturally deepens with age until it attains a reddish-brown color. Trim details are Hard Maple from Wisconsin and Bubinga or Padauk from Equatorial Africa.

Series 200; Hard Maple from Wisconsin, striking white wood that holds its color over time, with detailing of Zebrawood or Walnut and Wenge from Africa.

Series 300; Black Walnut, a deep brown hardwood from Wisconsin and Illinois trees with trim details from Hard Maple and Zebrawood from Africa

Series 400; Red Oak or Eastern White Ash, which are stained a medium brown to enhance color and graining. Wood trims used with these species are Hard Maple and Black Walnut.
